New Wave Cabaret #2-1/22/98

At the 31st Street Pub, which would be the home of the New Wave Cabaret (and Rickety in general) for the next three years.
Gary hosted again, with his hair spraypainted purple and pink this time. He was assisted by Sabrina who also sang with the Manny Theiner Supergroup at the finale.
The cake (and videotape) was by Sarah Lewis....she made three round cakes with gorgeous spun sugar cages on top of them. Unfortunately the cakes got sat on the grill behind the bar and they were pretty melty by the time we served them up. Still....delicious! Spaz could not be there so he sent along a cassette of himself doing dramatic readings of cure lyrics.

I believe the Blondie song the Human Brains did was Hangin on the Telephone.

I just found the video footage from this night. I'm converting it now, and I'll send you a DVD when it's finished. Not sure how complete it is, but there's some good stuff.

Rock on!

OK, having reviewed the footage: I have the PIL tribute, Bam Bam's birthday sing along, More Distortion, and Ernie's set. Maybe someone out there has more video?
